What is the difference between coaching and counseling?

Coaching is present and future based. Discovery and exploration of what are the blockages to be worked with to meet the client's goals.  This is done with partnership, collaboration and a focus on the client's total well-being. Coaching is a present and future focused therapy with a distinct ROI for improved outcomes.

Counseling focuses more on the causation  of how a less than desired behavior began,  exploring the past and learning how to renurture the person in this area, so they can heal and make better choices consistently and naturally. Counseling brings past, present and future together with a foccus on healing.

What is a “Tool”?

Accepted Answer

A Tool, is a method of bringing awareness to the client the ability to explore how they are being affected by stimulus. Modalities stimulates new thoughts, allow regulation, create new netural pathways and cause central nervous system stabilization. This allows for changes to be more easily acclimated within the client.

Why did you adopt Pia Mellody’s model for trauma healing?

I have witnessed with years of practice, that 100% of the time, if a client can stay plugged into their personal therapeutic work, be honest with themselves and the therapeutic relationship, permanent change happens in an organic and seamless way, as continued awareness is opened and accepted.

How long will it take to feel better, start healing and finish therapy?

This is highly subjective, to how much time a client is involved in “the work” in a day/week/month, how often they see me (awareness, especially establishing consistent awareness is 70% of the growth pattern), and how able they are to remove codependent behaviors from others and external validations.

What if I can’t afford therapy?

Talk with Delta about a payment plan or if a spot in the reduced fee allowance she keeps is open, as well as she has a wide network of excellent therapists and associates she can refer to, who do similar work at reduced fees.

What if I feel I don’t want relationship with others?

Let’s work on your relationship to yourself. This is a rare concept for many, yet it heals and in time you will find if you do or don’t have room for others.

What do you mean when you say “relationship with yourself”?

Accepted Answer

This is coming to understand yourself, coming into your true authenticity and how this affects your choices, opinions and viewpoint of your life today.

Also involves improving the quality of understanding of what your body is telling you, as feelings are felt bodily before emotionally (head space). Learning skills to honor what your body is telling you are needs and wants and being able to differentiate those two. It also means learning how to do this wholly on your own, even if in a relationship. No one is responsible for you, but you. And you are worth it!

Why are the costs for therapy with you much greater than other therapists (“better help”, etc..)?

The certifications, growing knowledge, continuing education, and the growth pattern of my practice is out of interest and passion. I see patterns in mental health and how I can help depends on the skill set I bring to the table. I am not a listen and nod my head therapist. I believe in a coach-like, therapeutic environment in which the most relatable and evidence based scientific therapy and modalities are employed to help my client.

Why do you not accept insurance?

Unfortunately, insurance does not reimburse enough to keep up my skill level that I offer.

Happiness and life satisfaction take work, it is not a default or an entitlement. This is available, and it takes work to get to this internal place of joy and to maintain it.

Counseling is a limited engagement, however the takeaways are incredible and will set you up for a present and future you desire and can grow limitless as you maintain the skillsets you will learn.
